Recent Events
We performed a concert in St Agnes Church, Port Talbot on 10th October 2008 to raise money for the church restoration fund. The evening was well supported and everybody stayed to socialise with the help of the cheese & wine provided by the friends of the church. Soloists on the night were Jayne Owen (Alto), Gerald Roderick (Baritone) and David Elward (Bass).
Our Summer Concert 2008 was held in Margam Abbey on 21st June 2008. Programme will included Schubert's Mass in G with the support of soloists Elin Pritchard (Soprano), Eifion Thomas (Tenor) and Aled Powys Williams (Baritone). We were pleased to see Aled shortly afterwards on television as a member of the winning choir 'Only Men Aloud' in the competition 'Last Choir Standing'.
We performed a concert in St Julius & St Aaron Church, Llanharan, on Friday 16th May 2008. Soloists on the night were Catherine Brown (Soprano), Cathy Holt (Soprano), Jayne Owen (Alto) and Rachel Wood (Flute).
The internationally renowned pianist, Ingrid Surgenor (our president) performed with Arwel Huw Morgan in St. German's Church, Metal Street, Cardiff on Saturday 10th May 2008. The concert, 'The Search for 'Ol Man River - The Life and Music of Paul Robeson' was in support of the Cardiff National Eisteddfod 2008 and the pair provided a feast of music to an appreciative audience.
We performed a concert at St. Michael's Church in Llanfihangel-Ar-Arth (near Carmarthen) on Saturday 12th April 2008 with the proceeds going to the School Hall. The soloists from the choir on the evening were Catherine Brown, Lesley Curtis, David Elward and Christopher Thomas.
Choir Dinner was held at the Bar Gallois on Friday 14th March 2008.
AGM was held on 28th February 2008 at Carmel Chapel.
Following the successful Christmas concert in St. Mary's Church, we resumed practice evenings at 7pm on Thursday 10th January 2008 in Carmel Chapel, Port Talbot.
